#16: We get to choose. A friendly reminder to be more choosy in this life.

We get to choose and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Life can be busy, layered, stressful, even confusing. It can be filled with chaos, change, judgement, lessons, trauma and strain; events that can alter us into reactionary states.

Always reacting to external input or forces. Always just trying to cope with it all. Always doing what everyone else wants, needs or expects of you.

Sometimes we need to be reminded that we can put ourselves first:

We get to choose who and what we allow into our space.

We get to choose what we will accept and what we won't.

We get to choose to create boundaries and teach people how to treat us.

We get to choose who we share our thoughts and emotions with.

We get to choose when to open up and when to be guarded or selective.

We get to choose based on where we are at and what aligns with our energy.

We get to choose according to what is more deserving of our time and attention.

We get to choose something different or better or none of your business.

We get to choose to give an explanation or to keep our reasons to ourselves.

We get to choose to be private or public about what we're going through.

We get to choose to have seasons when we're out there owning our space.

We get to choose to have chapters where we're quietly growing and evolving.

We get to choose when we're ready to show up, show ourselves, show them who we are now.

We get to choose to not be limited by who we used to be or who they decided we were.

We get to choose to be the best versions of ourselves according to our own measures.

We get to choose not to people please and have high regard for our own well-being.

We get to choose how to receive and respond to all that life throws at us.

We really do get to choose.

We get to choose self-love every day.
