Your dream job does not exist. You must create it.

Five years ago aitch was started with a dream - that partly involved doing a wide step around anything to do with corporate communications - and mostly involved pursuing and creating an independent and sustainable communications business.

One rooted in authenticity. One that encouraged working with a heart-on-sleeve approach and invited voice and imagination without reservation. One that allowed artfulness and thoughtfulness as a guiding principle over mindless mass communication...

All things I didn’t find in the cookie-cutter agency environment.
If the shoe doesn’t fit - take them off.

In early 2014, I came across a quote that said, “Your dream job does not exist. You must create it.” It set my mind alight and shone a beam down a narrow pathway, that promised anything was possible, but reeked of instability, uncertainty and chaos.

They told me it couldn’t be done, but I believed it was possible to work with dynamic, creative and exciting businesses. I believed it was possible to work on projects and in spaces I truly loved. I believed it was possible to do things differently, with passion and integrity. I believed it was possible to find and align with people who were doing outrageous and amazing things and help them do it.

And so I chased this dream, and tentatively prodded the chaos; I left my job with one tiny client, a feeling of potential, and, it must be said, a fuck-the-rules attitude, which I’ve had to dig very deep to relocate at times along the way.

However, its taken this half a decade to learn that this experience - to start a business and create your life on your terms - is the one. It truly is something to live for. It has been no easy-growing flower, but it has been the most powerful and challenging adventure I’ve known.

That first client was an unknown production kitchen behind the baked goods and sweet treats at Melissa’s, the second, a holistic pet food brand before organic-anything was a trend, and the third, a start-up music festival for like-minded people called Wolfkop Weekender. Ever a champion of the underdog; aitch found its feet helping other small businesses find theirs.

Places to start.

Places to start.

Aitch slipped into its 5th during a very manic month of March, but I didn’t want to let the milestone go by without thanking each and every client and brand we've been lucky enough to touch along the way. For your previous or ongoing patronage, for trusting myself and Tessa with your brands and your online reputations in a relentless and unforgiving world wide web. For allowing us to add spark and personality to our work- your product, service or event.

Thank you for kindness, friendship and support. Thank you for growing with us. Thank you for being our ‘yes’ people! We yes people need to stick together.
