Sometimes you stop to think. And remember to start again.

We're over halfway through the year that wasn't, or was it? Or is it still the year that could be? So many questions. I'm slowly unfurling after taking an opportunity to rest and recover; while some have pivoted, adapted and changed tack, this has been a great time to take a step back and allow what is, or isn't, to be just what I needed.

Here are a few things I've been upto over the past few months:

- Reading books that speak to the soul - Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth is blowing my mind and The One Thing is full of lessons about prioritising and mastering the one thing that matters to you

- Making to do lists - and then not doing anything on them, maybe later;)

- Signing up for free creative industry workshops and webinars - and then forgetting to tune in on the day

- Spending time in the kitchen making things from recipe books and making things with whimsy, so far so good - and mostly edible.

- Working with an Airbnb Host in Knysna to develop the online presence of her beautiful venue - a trade exchange for a nice stay there sometime in the future

- Working with a new life coach to develop her life coaching brand - in exchange for life-coaching sessions, the sweetest deal!

- Working as a white-labelled copywriter for an international agency doing amazing things for ecommerce brands in the US.

- Making playlists, meditating, trying to spend more time on my yoga mat and writing the first of 100 bad poems.

- Hoping for better days for everyone I know, my country and the world-at-large, appreciating the many layers of lessons over this time.

Saying a gentle no to productivity shaming and panic culture is the best thing I’ve harnessed during this time. It’s a new journey for me, but I highly recommend it.

Hope you are looking after yourselves out there.
